With Trump all but clinching the GOP nomination after winning the Indiana primary, American Bridge 21st Century President Jessica Mackler released the following statement on Senator Richard Burr’s position in the #PartyOfTrump:
“Over the past few weeks, Senator Burr has watched his lead in his fight for re-election grow smaller and smaller. Early on, Sen. Burr made it clear that he is on the Trump Train, saying he’s delighted with Trump’s candidacy, despite his unpredictability when it comes to national security. One thing isn’t unpredictable though: as long as Sen. Burr continues to support Trump, his re-election numbers will only get worse.”
- Senator Burr said that “you can’t predict what [Trump’s] going to do,” but said he will still support him in the general election.
