This week, American Bridge 21st Century announced the launch of a $50 million campaign targeting nearly 20 key House and Senate races across Iowa, Alaska, Colorado, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. This is in addition to the nearly 150 races in which American Bridge has been conducting ongoing opposition research ahead of elections in November.
This effort aims to expand the battleground by putting traditionally safe Republican seats—including districts rated R+3 or higher—in play this November.
Iowa will serve as the first state in the program’s rollout, with advertising launching June 9th before expanding into additional target states throughout the summer and fall.
This investment represents American Bridge’s largest midterm paid media effort to date and builds on extensive voter research from the organization’s Working Class Project, which has spent more than a year studying the concerns, priorities, and media consumption habits of working-class voters nationwide.
The campaign will feature local storytellers sharing firsthand accounts of rising costs due to Trump’s tariffs and Iran War, health care challenges including rising costs and Medicaid cuts, and other economic pressures.
“Many Americans are angry that President Trump has betrayed them and we want them to share their stories. Working class voters are fed up with the cost, chaos, and corruption,” said Bradley Beychok, co-founder of American Bridge 21st Century. “Our investment aims to seize this opportunity in traditionally Republican territory. We will expand the map early and often.”
The ads will also prominently feature American Bridge’s opposition research, highlighting candidates’ records of supporting policies that have made it harder for families to afford basic necessities and access critical health care services.
“We’ve spent over a year listening to working-class Americans, and what we’ve heard is remarkably consistent regardless of geography,” said Mitch Landrieu, co-chair of American Bridge. ” From Iowa to Alaska, voters are focused on the issues that affect their daily lives—everyday costs, healthcare, and economic fairness. This program is built around those concerns and giving voice to the people living with them every day.”
To reach voters where they are, the initiative will utilize a mix of digital advertising, streaming television, streaming audio, social media, direct mail, and AM/FM radio.
