Ashley Hinson has won Iowa’s Republican Senate primary, making her the party’s nominee for the U.S. Senate despite a long record of supporting policies that have hurt Iowa families, workers, and farmers. Her support of tariffs and the Iran war has wreaked havoc on Iowa farmers, curbing their revenue sources while causing fertilizer and fuel prices to skyrocket. Hinson has also been a menace to healthcare and Social Security access in Iowa. She voted for the “Big Beautiful Bill” which threatens the health insurance coverage of 86,000 Iowans, and she is one of the biggest cheerleaders for DOGE, which eviscerated Social Security services that more than 700,000 Iowans rely on.
“Ashley Hinson’s record is chock-full of bad policy stances that worsen the lives of everyday Iowans,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “She’s sold out Iowa farmers and decimated healthcare and Social Security access for those who need it the most. She’s done nothing but hurt Iowa families during her time in Congress, and that time needs to come to an end.”

- Hinson voted for the “Big Beautiful Bill”, which greatly diminished access to programs and resources that Iowans rely on.
- The bill cut Medicaid, threatening the health insurance coverage of 86,000 Iowans, and made historic cuts to SNAP, which 260,000 Iowans need to afford groceries. Hinson even said the legislation should have made “further cuts.”
- Hinson opposed expanding Medicare coverage, claiming that it was “socialism.”
- Hinson opposed extending ACA subsidies, causing Iowans to lose access to affordable health insurance options. She also accepted donations from a private equity firm that gutted a rural Iowa hospital and endangered patients.
- Hinson is a member of the DOGE caucus, a group of congressional cheerleaders that rooted on as the rogue government agency restricted access to Social Security, laid off hundreds of Iowans, and canceled grants for Iowa’s academic institutions.
- Hinson is an ardent defender of the tariffs that are harming Iowa farmers and making everyday goods more expensive.
- Iowa soybean farmers have experienced plummeting sales as a result of the tariffs, while food prices have soared.
- Hinson’s support of the Iran war has been similarly detrimental to Iowa’s farming industry.
- Fertilizer and gas prices are through the roof as a result of the war, yet Hinson has opposed legislative action to limit the war. Hinson recently referred to the war as a “political liability.” Though the fact remains that, time and again, she has put politics ahead of the needs of her constituents.
