Just a day after Ken Paxton was caught on tape saying Donald Trump was a drag on Republicans, Texas Tribune published audio of Brandon Herrera saying something very similar about Paxton.
Herrera was speaking with an attendee at Chris Gober’s “Meet the Incoming Freshmen” social in Dallas during the midterm convention. When the attendee expressed concerns over Paxton’s “baggage” being a drag on the Texas GOP ticket, Herrera responded, “It’s a bad year for him. It’s a bad year for us, I think. But we just have to survive it.”
“The mood among Texas Republicans as we approach the midterms is so dismal that they’re starting to turn on each other,” said American Bridge 21st Century Spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “They know their agenda has failed Texans and that Election Day is going to be a rude awakening. So it only makes sense to see friendly fire like this.”
