What You Missed Last Night: More Evidence Of Trump/Russia Collusion

While everyone was rightfully distracted by Greg Gianforte news last night, more Russia bombshells continued to drop. In the past 24 hours, we learned that last summer, top Russian officials boasted of their various ways to influence Donald Trump through former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and disgraced National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. In addition, it was also reported that Attorney General Jeff Sessions failed to disclose his meetings with Russian officials on his security clearance form.

“For an administration that claims they’ve got nothing to hide, they do an awful lot of hiding and lying,” said American Bridge spokesperson Sabrina Singh. “It’s now looking more and more like people in Trump’s orbit may have colluded with Russian officials to rig our election last year, and the FBI must get to the bottom of this immediately. Anyone who broke the law must be held accountable.”

Michael Flynn’s Lies Continue to Add Up As Things Go from Bad to Worse for Trump

It’s only getting worse for Michael Flynn and Donald Trump. After Flynn decided to invoke the Fifth Amendment instead of complying with a subpoena from the Senate Intelligence committee today, he was caught lying to the Pentagon about receiving $45,000 from the Russian government propaganda network RT and his contacts with Russian officials, during the time he was renewing his top-secret security clearance.

“Michael Flynn is a liar and it looks like the White House has been running a cover up operation. Now he’s in a new world of trouble and things are just getting worse for an Administration that appears hell bent on obstructing justice. What did Donald Trump know and when did he know it? And at what point will they finally tell the American people the truth?” said American Bridge spokesperson Sabrina Singh.

Trump On Taking The 5th: “Like Watergate, But Worse”

As former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn invokes the fifth amendment to avoid testifying before Congress’ Trump-Russia probe, watch Donald Trump argue that taking the fifth is disgraceful, synonymous with guilt, and even worse than Watergate.

Watch: “You see the mob takes the Fifth Amendment. If you’re innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”  [Donald Trump, Rally, Council Bluffs, IA, 9/28/16]

Watch: “When you have your staff taking the Fifth Amendment – taking the Fifth so they’re not prosecuted. When you have the man that set up the illegal server taking the Fifth – I think it’s disgraceful and believe me this country thinks it’s disgraceful, really thinks it’s disgraceful also”  [Donald Trump, Presidential Debate, Hempstead, NY, 9/29/16]

Watch: “He pleaded the Fifth and we never heard of him again. This is like a Third World country. This is like Watergate, but worse.” [Donald […]

Pence Can’t Escape The Russia Investigation

The walls are starting to close in around Donald Trump under the weight of his compromising ties to Russia, but don’t forget this scandal envelops Mike Pence too.

“It’s time to talk about Mike Pence,” said American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden. “Pence was right there cheering on Wikileaks as they published emails stolen by the Russians to help their campaign win. And it was none other than Pence who led the transition team that ignored warnings about Michael Flynn and made him National Security Adviser anyway.”

“Pence is just as complicit in this scandal as every other Republican in Washington, and despite his best efforts to fly under the radar, he should expect the country to hold him accountable.”

Here is a timeline that dissects Vice President Mike Pence’s involvement in the Russia scandal every step of the way:

5 Takeaways From The Last 5 Days

Chaos, confusion, controversy and cover ups – the Trump Russia scandal is bigger than Watergate. And that’s not hyperbole. From revelations that Trump’s National Security Advisor remained on the job with no restrictions for 18 days after the White House was warned he may have been compromised, to the rapidly growing mound of evidence the President has obstructed justice by interfering into an ongoing FBI investigation, the scandals surrounding the White House have spiraled out of control.

“The President thinks he’s above the law. He’s not, and if things don’t change, he’s going to learn that the hard way,” said American Bridge Vice President Shripal Shah.

Here are the 5 most important takeaways of the week:

MONDAY: Former acting attorney general Sally Yates confirmed that she warned the White House that Michael Flynn was “compromised by the Russians” and “could be blackmailed.” Despite this warning, the White […]

Spicer Confirms: White House Recklessly Ignored Concerns of a “Compromised” Michael Flynn…

…And Backs Away From White House Talking Point Denying Collusion with Russia

During this afternoon’s briefing, Sean Spicer confirmed two bombshell revelations that should send chills down the spine of the public. In an attempt to sweep the growing controversy surrounding former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn under the rug, Spicer finally confirmed that:

1. The White House took no action once warned about Flynn being compromised. For 18 days Michael Flynn’s security access was not restricted despite the fact the White House was told by non-partisan officials at the Department of Justice told that Flynn could be compromised by Russia and subject to blackmail.

2. Spicer admitted White House talking point denying collusion with Russia was false. In a welcome rebuke of the President’s delusional rhetoric, Spicer also admitted the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper could not rule the possibility there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

In response, American […]

What You Need To Know About The 18 Days Flynn Stayed On As NSA After The White House Learned He Could Be Compromised

Eighteen days lapsed between January 26th, when Acting Attorney General Sally Yates warned the White House that the National Security Adviser Michael Flynn was believed to be compromised by the Russians, and February 14th when he was fired.

“It is unthinkable that the White House carried on for eighteen days while the National Security Adviser was considered compromised by the Russians and a known blackmail risk,” said American Bridge Rapid Response Director Emily Aden. “Michael Flynn shouldn’t have been allowed anywhere near the classified intelligence briefings he delivered to the President, not to mention sitting in the Oval Office when President Trump called Putin. These eighteen days are nothing short of a White House cover up orchestrated at the highest possible level.”

Despite being warned by Sally Yates, for eighteen days the White House did nothing about this national security risk. Here’s what happened while […]

Five Bombshell Moments From Today’s Russia Hearing

Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates confirmed much of the Trump White House’s greatest fears in her testimony today. She confirmed that not only was President Trump’s hand-picked top campaign adviser turned National Security Adviser Michael Flynn believed to be compromised by the Russians, but the White House was warned 18 days before Flynn was finally fired. Adding insult to injury, she repeatedly confirmed that Vice President Mike Pence lied to the American people about Flynn’s conduct.

Further, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper affirmed that the “transcendent” issue at hand is Russian interference in our election despite question after question from Republican senators carrying water for Donald Trump and his conspiracy theories on leaks.

WATCH: Each time the White House lied about Flynn “it increased the compromise” the Russians had over Flynn.

The Flynn Timeline You Need Ahead Of Yates’s Testimony

As former Acting Attorney General prepares to testify in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, American Bridge has prepared the definitive timeline of the Trump administration’s ongoing Russia scandal as it relates to disgraced former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. As the timeline shows, the White House has haphazardly attempted to cover for Trump’s NSA clear indebtedness to Russia, despite having been forcefully warned weeks earlier by then Acting Attorney General Sally Yates that Flynn had lied about his conversations with the Russian Ambassador and may have been compromised.

“Michael Flynn is a liar and this timeline makes it look like the White House has been running a cover up,” said Emily Aden, American Bridge Rapid Response Director. “Will they ever tell the truth to the American people?”

White House Caught Lying About Flynn. Again.

“Once again it looks like the White House was purposefully lying to the public in an attempt to cover up the truth about their ties to Russia. This latest development only furthers the need for an independent commission investigating whether or not Russian hackers colluded with Trump officials to rig last year’s election in his favor. Americans deserve the truth, and the White House has proven incapable of providing it. Meanwhile, they’re putting our national security at risk.” –American Bridge Vice President Shripal Shah
