QUICK CLIP: Mike Braun’s Missing Financial Disclosure

This morning, Indiana’s WTHR highlighted Senate candidate Mike Braun’s failure to file a personal financial disclosure form by the federal deadline, saying the missed deadline was “kind of a big deal.”

Braun is required by federal ethics rules to file a personal financial disclosure by May 15, and could face a fine for his failure to meet the deadline.

“Hoosiers curious about Mike Braun’s murky past have been forced to stay in the dark by Braun’s failure to file a simple disclosure,” said American Bridge spokesperson Amelia Penniman. “Voters have already read about Braun’s bad business practices and his record of enriching himself and his donors — how many more skeletons are in his closet?”

NEW AD Features Beholden Mike Braun Campaigning with Lobbyists Aligned with Indiana Outsourcers

American Bridge launched a new digital ad today featuring exclusive footage of Indiana Senate candidate Mike Braun exiting a fundraiser at Washington, DC lobbying firm BGR Group.

BGR Group lists among its clients United Technologies, the parent group of Carrier, which outsourced over 500 Indiana jobs to Mexico.

“Mike Braun called DC politicians ‘beholden…to lobbyists, PACs, and the people who finance their campaigns.’ But now that he’s won the primary he apparently has no qualms about rubbing shoulders with Washington insiders. A week of high-dollar fundraisers with a who’s who of the Swamp makes one thing clear: Mike Braun is committed to flooding the Swamp, not draining it,” said American Bridge spokesperson Amelia Penniman.

VIDEO: Welcome to the Swamp, Mike Braun

Today American Bridge released a video featuring original footage of Indiana Senate candidate Mike Braun going door to door on K Street to raise money for his Senate campaign. Braun’s fundraising blitz comes after months of stump speeches decrying DC politicians who are beholden to special interests and lobbyists.

“Mike Braun wasted no time trading in his blue button down and jeans for a K Street-approved suit,” said American Bridge spokesperson Amelia Penniman. “Braun’s week of DC fundraisers promises bundles of insider cash — but flies in the face of his campaign promises. Hoosiers deserve to know the truth: Mike Braun doesn’t value their interests, he values Washington special interests.”

QUICK CLIP: “Outsider” Mike Braun Embarks on a Tour of K Street

After winning the Indiana Senate primary as the ‘outsider’ candidate, Rep. Mike Braun has kicked off a week in Washington by rubbing shoulders with a who’s who of the Swamp. Braun’s full schedule of fundraisers on K Street and beyond is sure to net him some campaign cash, but will it really leave him “not beholden to anyone“?

“Mike Braun ditched his outsider gimmick faster than you can say ‘drain the swamp.’ Add this one to the long list of Braun saying one thing and doing another for his own political gain,” said American Bridge spokesperson Amelia Penniman.

Indianapolis’s WRTV highlighted Braun’s hypocrisy with a throwback to a Braun ad that painted his primary opponents as “swamp brothers”:

Senate Brief: Wisconsin Republicans’ Race to the Bottom Reaches New Lows

Week of Monday, May 14

IN BRIEF: What the hell is going on in Wisconsin? Leah Vukmir officially received her party’s endorsement for U.S. Senate this weekend at the Wisconsin Republican Convention, but this primary is far from over — and both candidates are increasingly embroiled in controversies of their own making.

Losing the party’s endorsement must have been the cherry on top of a horrible week for Kevin Nicholson.

It was a landslide: Vukmir took the convention by 72%.
Grassroots Wisconsin Republicans rallied behind Vukmir, while “Nicholson remains powered by millions of dollars in spending from groups and individuals outside Wisconsin.”

Nicholson continues to face backlash on all sides after nearly two weeks of attacks against veterans, during which he’s refused to back down on questioning the “cognitive thought process” of veterans who vote for Democrats.

Here’s a handy highlight reel of Nicholson’s anti-veterans media […]

Ahead of Trump-Pence Campaign Stop for Mike Braun, American Bridge Launches Search Ads

Google Ads Will Help Hoosiers Find Out “Who Is Mike Braun”

Today, ahead of Donald Trump and Mike Pence’s campaign visit to Indiana to campaign for new Senate nominee Rep. Mike Braun, American Bridge is launching Google search ads to inform Hoosiers exactly who their Republican Senate nominee is.

When Hoosiers — many of whom will first learn about Mike Braun as he campaigns today — search Google for “Mike Braun” or “Who is Mike Braun,” targeted search ads will direct them to a website that highlights what Rep. Braun’s fellow Republicans think about him.

“When you’re meeting someone for the first time, it’s best to talk to those who know him best. So we thought Hoosiers should really hear from Congressmen Rokita and Messer, two Republicans who have some choice words for Rep. Mike Braun. Although Indiana’s brutal primary has come to a close, Mike Braun can’t […]

NEW ADS: Bruising Primaries Leave GOP Candidates Irreparably Damaged Ahead of General Election

Braun, Morrisey, and DeWine have been lambasted
for months by their fellow Republicans

Today, immediately following Senate primaries in Indiana and West Virginia, and the gubernatorial primary in Ohio, American Bridge released new digital ads targeting the newly minted Republican candidates. The ads ask Hoosiers, West Virginians, and Ohioans – if their new nominees’ fellow Republicans so thoroughly denounced them, why should any Republican voter have confidence in their candidacies?

The 30-second ads will play this week on social media in Indiana, West Virginia, and Ohio, targeted to Republican voters. Among the damaging attacks on their U.S. Senate and gubernatorial nominees that voters will hear straight from the mouths of their fellow Republicans are:

“Mike Braun is just willing to say anything to get elected.” – Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN)
“The problem with Patrick Morrisey is he’s just not being honest.” – Rep. Evan Jenkins (R-WV)
“That’s what Mike DeWine represents, he is the establishment… he is a career […]

The 30-second ad will play this week on social media in Indiana targeted to Republican voters. Among the damaging attacks Hoosiers will hear once again about their U.S. Senate nominee from his fellow Republicans are:

Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN): “Mike Braun is trying to buy a Senate seat.”
Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN): “Mike Braun is just willing to say anything to get elected.”
Messer: “How can any Hoosier conservative trust you?”

American Bridge spokesperson Joshua Karp said, “Braun barely survived a bruising Republican primary — and came away with his opponents’ damaging attacks still sticking to his back. If this is what fellow Republicans were willing to say about Braun, how can […]

Senate Brief: The First GOP Senate Primaries Happen Tomorrow. They’ve Been A Disaster For Republicans.

Week of Monday, May 7

IN BRIEF: Start your engines. The first Senate primaries of the year happen tomorrow, and they’ve been a disaster for Republicans. No matter who wins the primaries in West Virginia, Indiana, and Ohio tomorrow night, the winner has absorbed lasting damage that voters won’t forget.

In West Virginia, the contest labeled “America’s wildest Senate primary” hit a fever pitch with the candidates pulling no punches in their desperation to  tear each other down:

“Jenkins and Morrisey spent the final stretch of the race savaging each otherin debates and TV commercials,” a dynamic that has senior Republicans scared, Politico reported.
Meanwhile, in another episode of “Don Blankenship said What?!”: Blankenship’s latest racist ad that prompted headlines like, “The Worst Senate Candidate in America,” and “I’m All for Ragging on Mitch McConnell, But This Is Nuts.

QUICK CLIP: Horrible Boss Braun’s Career of Hypocrisy

Indiana Senate candidate Rep. Mike Braun’s abusive business record doesn’t match his self-satisfied stump speeches. Beneath Braun’s bragging about his business record is a career built on mistreating his employees.

On the stump, Braun promises to protect workers from outsourcing — while enjoying the spoils of deep-rooted dealings with foreign companies. His company has benefited from government subsidies — meanwhile, Braun doesn’t waste breath criticizing them. And the cherry on top of a sleazy business career: the multiple lawsuits from workers hurt and wronged while under the employ of Rep. Mike Braun.
