This morning, failed former NRSC Chair and Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott announced he would seek re-election in 2024 on the same platform that lost the GOP the Senate in 2022. Scott’s plan would hike taxes for seniors and more than half of Americans, “[sunset] Social Security and Medicare within five years,” and institute a federal abortion ban.
“After having his plan epically backfire in 2022 and his presidential ambitions dashed, Rick Scott is back for more, doubling down on his plan to raise taxes and phase out Social Security and Medicare–something that will surely play well in a state with one of largest retirement-age populations in the country,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Sarah Abel. “Every day for the next two years, we will be working to make sure Floridians know exactly where Rick Scott stands and why he’s bad for the state.”
