SPOILER ALERT: HE CAN’T
Today, Donald Trump, who is consistently trailing in key battleground polls, floated the illegal idea of “delaying the election” in order to distract from the historic plunge the United States economy took in the second quarter – a nearly 33% drop in gross domestic product (GDP) – and to discredit perfectly safe and legal vote-by-mail efforts. Trump’s hypocritical wagging of the dog also flies in the face of his own record (and his campaign staff’s record) of voting by mail.
“96 days out from Election Day, Donald Trump is feeling the heat after having overseen the greatest economic collapse since the Great Depression and mismanaged the most deadly pandemic in a century,” said Kyle Morse, an American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson. “Donald Trump can wag the dog all he likes but nothing can distract from the pain and suffering American families are enduring right now because of his mistakes. Leadership is on the ballot this November, and the American people will hold him accountable for the carnage Trump has wrecked upon on our nation.”
BONUS: Here’s the Trump Campaign’s Rapid Response Director Andrew Clark, Deputy Rapid Response Director Matt Wolking, the RNC’s Rapid Response Director Steve Guest (OH NO! NOT ANOTHER DUNK), and the Trump War Room all criticizes Democratic nominee Joe Biden for predicting that Trump would attempt to delay the election.
