John E. Sununu has made his “tough on China” stance a focal point of his Senate campaign, hoping everyone would ignore the fact that he has been cashing in on Chinese business dealings for years. According to recent reporting from MeidasTouch, Sununu called China “the biggest strategic threat that the United States faces.” But, after losing his re-election bid, he considered China to be a crucial partner rather than an adversary, profiting from a number of companies that are heavily tied to China. This notably included an AI company that partnered with a Chinese telecom giant which U.S. intelligence flagged as a potential national security threat.
“John E. Sununu’s hypocrisy is on full display, emphasizing the importance of standing up to China despite the fact that his business record has a massive Chinese footprint,” said American Bridge 21st Century Spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “He is an entirely disingenuous candidate who is more concerned with lining his own pockets than the wellbeing of Granite Staters.”
