Pete Ricketts funded Ken Paxton’s senatorial campaign just weeks after Paxton gave a generous plea deal to a man charged with sexual abuse of a child. According to recent reporting from the Heartland Signal, Ricketts donated $5,000 to Paxton’s campaign for U.S. Senate on June 17. In April, Paxton offered a controversial plea deal involving less than 30 days of jail time to Adam Hoffman, who was charged with repeatedly sexually abusing a 13-year-old. After his release, Hoffman relocated to Sarpy County, Nebraska, where he is now a registered sex offender.
“Ken Paxton gave a sweetheart deal to a child molester who now lives among Pete Ricketts’ constituents in Nebraska,” said American Bridge 21st Century Spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “And Ricketts responded to that by donating to Paxton’s campaign, proving that he is not at all concerned with Nebraskans’ safety.”
