Republican state House candidate Scott Timko has touted his small business record as a qualification for public office, but new reporting from American Journal News reveals one of his businesses owed Pennsylvania $42,471 in taxes as of this July.
According to public records from the Butler County Prothonotary, Timko and his spouse both faced a $32,174 tax lien because of their underlying debt with GotGumbo LLC. Between 2021 and 2024, the company also paid $18,877 to settle outstanding liens.
The new reporting comes as Timko competes in the August 18 special election for Pennsylvania’s 12th House District. Timko told the Butler Eagle that lowering taxes and cutting regulations are his top priorities, saying, “The best thing for the economy is for people to keep as much of their money as possible.”
