Michele Tafoya, a prominent MAGA talking head, has secured the Republican nomination for Minnesota’s Senate seat. Tafoya, who until recently was a sideline reporter, will now try to win over Minnesotans in the general election with her notable lack of experience, staunch support of harmful policies, and abysmally out-of-touch comments.
“Michele Tafoya could not be more wrong for Minnesota and has no place in the Senate,” said American Bridge 21st Century Spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “Her love of all things MAGA has done nothing but hurt the people she wants to represent, and when Minnesotans voiced their concerns over the harmful policies she supports, she essentially told them to eat cake.”
Read more about why Michele Tafoya does not belong in the Senate:
- Michele Tafoya has been one of the most outspoken supporters of Trump’s reckless war in Iran, even as it has driven up gas and fertilizer prices in Minnesota.
- When confronted with the fact that Minnesotans are facing an affordability crisis as a direct result of the war, Tafoya dismissed their concerns and told them to “take one less trip to Starbucks” and think of it as a “short-term sacrifice.”
- These comments drew intense criticism from within Tafoya’s own party; her primary opponent, Adam Schwarze, said Tafoya “doesn’t know anything about international relations.”
- She also expressed her support for boots on the ground in Iran, putting even more American service members at risk.
- When Trump threatened to wipe out an entire generation of Iranians, Tafoya stated she was “curious to see how far” Trump would have gone.
- When confronted with the fact that Minnesotans are facing an affordability crisis as a direct result of the war, Tafoya dismissed their concerns and told them to “take one less trip to Starbucks” and think of it as a “short-term sacrifice.”
- Tafoya also supports Trump’s tariffs, which have driven up the prices of everyday goods across Minnesota.
- Tafoya applauded Trump for passing the One Big Beautiful Bill, which has decimated access to critical food assistance and put health coverage at risk for 140,000 Minnesotans.
- Tafoya supports repealing the Affordable Care Act, which more than 139,000 Minnesotans rely on for coverage.
- Tafoya is a complete hypocrite when it comes to fraud. She has made the issue a focal point of her campaign, calling it “epic” and “massive,” but she accepted donations from one of the biggest SEC accounting fraudsters in history.
- Tafoya called for data centers in Minnesota, saying Minnesotans were going to have to “accept” them.
