Fresh off enjoying a long weekend, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans are supposedly back in Washington this week. But while they may be back in the Capitol physically, it’s unclear what, if anything, they’re actually doing. McConnell announced over the weekend that the Senate won’t be taking up the Coronavirus relief package the House passed days ago until later this week. Maybe.
“The economy is tanking and people are dying from this pandemic, but Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans continue to do nothing,” said American Bridge spokesperson Zach Hudson. “Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans need to get off the couch and pass the Coronavirus relief bill House Democrats passed days ago.”
