Tonight, Donald Trump continued his baseless attacks on our democratic processes. This abhorrent attempt to subvert the will of voters across the country is par for the course for Trump and the spineless Republicans who do nothing but parrot his dangerous attacks. Mike Rogers placed his full support behind Trump’s heinous lies, and has a history of making his own baseless accusations of election fraud in Michigan.
“Mike Rogers has committed plenty of affronts against Michiganders, but undermining our democracy might be the worst,” said American Bridge 21st Century Spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “Lying about the legitimacy of elections is destructive and dangerous — and Rogers needs to be held accountable.”

- Mike Rogers claimed that the 2024 Michigan Senate election was stolen after his defeat to Elissa Slotkin, stating without evidence that a van delivered ballots to a polling place in Detroit.
- Mike Rogers current campaign staff contains several election deniers.
- Meshawn Maddock and Kenneth Thompson, county co-chairs on Rogers’ campaign, were pardoned by Trump after taking part in the “false electors” scheme that sought to cast Michigan’s electoral votes in 2020 for Trump.
- Nearly a dozen of the other county co-chairs named by Rogers in June had made statements online promoting conspiracy theories on the presidential election or the Jan. 6 riots.
- Norm Shinkle, one of the co-chairs in Ingham County, was the sole member of the State Board of Canvassers who refused to certify the 2020 elections.
