New Video: 150 Days, $37.5 Billion, 18 American Lives Lost, and Still No End in Sight for Trump's Iran War

Jul 28, 2026

This week, we passed 150 days since the United States entered a war with Iran that President Trump promised would be short and cheap. American Bridge 21st Century is releasing a new video marking the milestone and asking how much longer Americans will be forced to pay for a war with no end in sight.

The numbers after 150 days:

  • $37.5 billion spent on the war so far, a figure that grows by the week
  • 18 American service members killed
  • 21 weeks of administration claims that a deal to end the conflict is close, followed by another week of fighting

What families are feeling at home:

  • Higher prices at the gas pump, tied to oil market disruptions from the conflict
  • Grocery bills stretched thinner as shipping and fuel costs rise
  • Household budgets absorbing costs tied to a war many families never asked for and can’t opt out of

“Trump promised this war would be over months ago, and 150 days later they’re still causing chaos in the Middle East with no exit in sight. The administration keeps promising the end is almost here, and that Iranians want to make a deal; meanwhile, the bill for families keeps on growing,” said American Bridge spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “But you can’t spin your way out of an empty wallet or an empty chair at the dinner table. Families deserve a real answer, not another week of stalling dressed up as progress.”
