Salazar was willing to go against her own word and ignore her constituents to please national party leaders instead of doing what was right for FL-27. Salazar voted for a bill that would kick 17 million Americans off their health insurance, which threatened the health care of more than 99,000 Floridians in her district. She went against her own beliefs and voted against a bill allowing the government to negotiate lower costs of prescription drugs for the seniors in her district. She voted to gut Medicare after claiming she would not take a single dollar away from Medicare. When DOGE and Trump administration cuts weakened the Social Security Administration, she said nothing as seniors in her district faced barriers to accessing their own benefits. Salazar was even the deciding vote to protect Trump’s tariffs as Floridians faced increased prices and a $1,000 tax increase. In 2020, she criticized her campaign opponent for violating the STOCK Act, then she was elected to congress and went on to violate the act a couple of times herself. Salazar again proved untrustworthy when she attempted to take credit for funding that went to her district even though she voted against the bills that appropriate that money. Salazar can’t be trusted to do what is right for FL-27.
