POLITICO: Brown Pays Own Daughter To Sing

On February 3, 2012, POLITICO reported:

Sen. Scott Brown’s daughter, Ayla Brown, likes to use her musical talent to help boost her father’s reelection bid, but the former “America Idol” contestant and her band’s services aren’t free — the Brown campaign has spent $9,500 for the senator’s daughter to perform at three campaign events, records show.

The Brown campaign made three payments to Ambient Entertainment, the company that represents Ayla Brown, since the end of 2010 — $5,000 on Dec. 3, 2010, $500 on Oct. 5, 2011 and $4,000 on Dec. 7, 2011, for a grand total of $9,500, according to 2010 and 2011 FEC filings.

In the FEC filings, the purpose of disbursement for all three events was listed as “event entertainment.” The Scott Brown campaign hosted a Christmas holiday party at the Park Plaza Hotel on Dec. 3, 2010.
