Following last night’s release of the House GOP’s attempt to repeal health care that would cut Medicaid expansion for 300,000 Nevadans, we’ve heard nothing but crickets from Sen. Dean Heller. Just last week, Governor Sandoval claimed that he and Sen. Heller were “working together to preserve” coverage, and yet Heller refused to add his name to a letter from Senators that opposed the bill on account of Medicaid expansion.
American Bridge President Jessica Mackler made the following statement:
“Once again, Dean Heller is hiding, staying quiet on a Republican bill that will screw over hundreds of thousands of Nevadans in one fell swoop. This bill would be disastrous for Nevada and Heller’s continued silence proves that he’s a missing-in-action politician that is avoiding doing his job for the people he was elected to represent.”
