Susan Collins is Responsible for Millions of Women Losing Reproductive Freedom

Jun 24, 2026

The anniversary of the Supreme Court’s infamous Dobbs decision serves as a reminder of Susan Collins’ role in robbing millions of American women of their right to choose. Collins cast a pivotal vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, who was the deciding vote in the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Now, Collins maintains that she does not regret her crucial vote that obliterated the reproductive healthcare of women across the United States.

“Susan Collins’ vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh effectively robbed American women of their right to choose,” said American Bridge 21st Century Spokesperson Gus Nathanson. “That decision now endangers millions of women who no longer have access to essential reproductive healthcare. Susan Collins made that happen, and someone with such a harmful legacy has no place in the Senate.”

Read more about Susan Collins’ role in restricting women’s reproductive rights:

  • Collins cast a decisive vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh, who overturned Roe v. Wade in the disastrous Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling.
  • Even after the fallout, Collins proclaimed that she did “not regret that vote” to confirm Justice Kavanaugh.
  • Collins also lied about the Dobbs v. Jackson decision in order to downplay her role in it. She claimed the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to overturn abortion access, when in actuality, the vote was 5-4.
  • When Collins had a chance to stand up for Maine women, she decided to vote against the Women’s Health Protection Act which would’ve codified Roe v. Wade.
