I’m going to give a free commercial here. Go buy Ivanka’s stuff.”

Standing in front of a sign reading “The White House,” federal employee and senior adviser to President Donald Trump Kellyanne Conway this morning used her platform in the executive branch to promote Ivanka Trump’s clothing brand.

It is a clear violation the Standards of Ethics Conduct for Employees of the Executive Branch, US Code of Federal Regulations, Part 5 § 2635.702: “An employee shall not use his public office for his own private gain, for the endorsement of any product, service or enterprise, or for the private gain of friends, relatives, or persons with whom the employee is affiliated in a nongovernmental capacity, including nonprofit organizations of which the employee is an officer or member, and persons with whom the employee has or seeks employment or business relations.”

This comes after Sean Spicer yesterday warned that the White House and Trump will abuse presidential power to attack anyone who threatens the Trump family’s profits.

American Bridge President Jessica Mackler issued the following statement calling for Conway’s firing after she broke the law this morning:

“Donald Trump is using the Presidency to get richer while selling out the American people. This morning, Kellyanne Conway blatantly violated the law when she used her position in the White House to shill for Ivanka Trump’s company on national television.  She must be held accountable for this brazen violation — it is time for Donald Trump to tell her, ‘You’re Fired.'”
