Brnovich gives even more credibility to the Big Lie, as Rep. Paul Gosar says support for his Senate run should be “conditional” on if he secures 2020 election indictments

Following mounting pressure from Donald Trump and Arizona Republicans like Wendy Rogers, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is looking to boost his U.S. Senate run by putting taxpayers on the hook for a “political stunt” investigation into the 2020 election in order to help spread Trump’s completely baseless Big Lie.

Brnovich’s latest steps to use his taxpayer-funded office to build up his political profile comes just days after U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar suggested that support for Brnovich’s Senate run should be “conditional” on whether Brnovich issues indictments based on Arizona Republicans’ discredited so-called “audit” that, in reality, found no evidence of fraud.

Brnovich has repeatedly faced criticism for trying to abuse his role as Attorney General and turn the taxpayer-funded office into a launchpad for his future political aspirations, including his current Senate run.

But this latest move is a brazen new low, such that Arizona Republic columnist EJ Montini is asking Arizona taxpayers, “Are you happy funding Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich’s U.S. Senate campaign?
