Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign faced mounting scrutiny this week over a troubling pattern: protecting political allies, concealing critical facts, and hoping Ohio voters do not look too closely.
THE MAX MILLER POWER OVER PRINCIPLE
Leaked audio confirms Ramaswamy continues to support Rep. Max Miller despite allegations of domestic and child abuse, telling a voter that preserving Republican control is “the most important” priority.
While Ohio Republicans Sen. Bernie Moreno, Jon Husted, and Gov. Mike DeWine have all called on Miller to resign, Ramaswamy has refused, instead keeping Miller as a featured endorser on his campaign site.
“Vivek Ramaswamy has made his priorities painfully clear: Republican power comes before women, children, survivors, and basic accountability,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Tiffiany Vaughn. “While other Ohio Republicans called on Max Miller to step aside, Vivek saw allies he refused to lose.”
Ramaswamy’s defense of an accused abuser drew widespread coverage from outlets including HuffPost, The Daily Mail, OK! Magazine, Raw Story, and The Bulwark.
THE AMY ACTON AD LIE: A MANUFACTURED ATTACK
Ramaswamy’s deception extends to his ads. TiffinOhio.net reported that the woman featured in his attack ad against Dr. Amy Acton lived and died in Kentucky — not Ohio — putting her entirely outside Acton’s jurisdiction.
The ad further attempted to blame Acton for decisions Gov. DeWine has stated were his own, prompting the Ohio Capital Journal to ask: “How low can you go?”
RAMASWAMY’S MAGA MESSENGER
Ramaswamy’s campaign did not just distort the facts — it concealed who it chose to deliver the attack. TiffinOhio.net reported that Ramaswamy chose Linda Caudill, a MAGA insider another Republican gubernatorial campaign found too extreme—and presented her to voters simply as a grieving daughter.
Caudill chaired Trump’s 2016 Hamilton County campaign, served as a Trump delegate, and was recently elected to the Ohio Republican Party’s State Central Committee. Jim Renacci’s campaign previously dropped her after she posted a violent “silencer” meme targeting Jon Husted.
Ramaswamy chose a Trump campaign veteran and Ohio Republican Party official to front an attack the facts do not support. The messengers he elevates reveal exactly who he is aligned with.
Bottom line is Vivek Ramaswamy has shown Ohio exactly who he is: a career opportunist willing to protect accused abusers and peddle falsehoods for political gain. Ohio deserves better than a candidate who treats the truth and the safety of survivors as collateral damage.
