Wisconsin Republicans have selected California multimillionaire banker Eric Hovde to be their Senate nominee. After his first failed run for Senate back in 2012, Hovde’s comeback has proven to be a flop which has earned him the reputation of a “gaffe machine.” Hovde’s campaign has been marred by controversy due to him insulting almost everyone in Wisconsin including seniors, single mothers, farmers, young people who rely on the Affordable Care Act, and more. Hovde has also proven to be extremely out of step with Wisconsinites on abortion rights, health care, and tax policies that benefit working families.
“Eric Hovde should’ve learned his lesson the first time he lost, but he’s back from California to remind Wisconsinites yet again that he’s an out-of-touch filthy rich banker who is only interested in his bottom line,” said American Bridge 21st Century Senate Communications Director Nico Delgado. “His unprompted attacks on everyday Wisconsinites combined with his far-right positions on abortion and health care make him a disastrous choice. Voters will send him back to his Laguna Beach mansion this November.”

- Hovde insulted single mothers during his first failed run for Senate.
- Hovde got caught lying about his bootstraps story when in reality he used his father’s wealth and political connections to climb the ladder.
