Republican senators just voted to attack women’s healthcare instead of doing their jobs and keeping the government open. Women’s healthcare services are the victim of Senate Republicans playing politics. These seven vulnerable senators chose to place politics above the rights of women in hopes of winning political favor with anti-choice extremists:
- Kelly Ayotte
- Richard Burr
- Ron Johnson
- John McCain
- Rand Paul
- Rob Portman
- Pat Toomey
“Republicans are risking a government shutdown to play politics with women’s health,” said American Bridge 21st Century President Jessica Mackler. “When Republicans play politics, women lose. Senators are elected to do a job, and instead of using what little time is left before the government shuts down to find a way to keep the lights on, these vulnerable Republicans have chosen to attack women’s right to access basic health care services. It’s irresponsible and the American people should be outraged by these senators’ politically-motivated choice.”
