Today, American Bridge 21st Century announced that opposition research veteran and longtime Bridge leader Pat Dennis has been named the organization’s next president – succeeding outgoing President Jessica Floyd. Dennis has been with American Bridge since 2014 and is currently the Vice President of Research.
With Pat’s leadership of the largest research team in Bridge history, AB21 helped to beat back the “red wave” – shaping the narrative in critical gubernatorial and Senate races across the map. Further down the ballot, our work was instrumental to helping stop election deniers from gaining election administration positions in crucial swing states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Arizona. By running the sharpest, most aggressive, and well-equipped opposition research and rapid response operation in American politics, we acted quickly to define our opponents. Our work was featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, Associated Press, and others.
“Pat Dennis has been an integral part of our team at American Bridge and we have worked together for more than a decade. He’s the natural fit to lead our team into 2024 and beyond,” said Bradley Beychok, Founder of American Bridge 21st Century. “We are excited to announce that he will be at the helm of American Bridge as our organization fights every day to hold Republicans accountable.”
“American Bridge plays an indispensable role in progressive politics and I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this amazing team,” said Pat Dennis, American Bridge 21st Century President. “I would like to thank our outgoing President Jessica Floyd who built a powerful and innovative operation over the course of this past cycle. I believe deeply in the value of durable and professionalized Democratic infrastructure and I am so proud of all that our team accomplished in 2022. We’re already hitting the ground running for 2023 and 2024 by doing what we do best: holding Republicans accountable. This team will continue to do extraordinary work and I’m excited to see what we’ll get done together.”
Pat Dennis, former Vice President of Research and incoming President of American Bridge 21st Century, has helped manage the largest research operation in the Democratic Party for the past eight years. Under Dennis’ leadership, American Bridge 21st Century has uncovered and pitched career-ending stories on Republicans running up and down the ballot. In the 2022 cycle alone, Dennis’ team’s opposition research appeared in over $22 million worth of ads and generated more than $96 million in earned media value for television. Dennis has particularly focused on crafting and honing new methods of opposition research in the tech space, including the Vault video database and research databases like repro-files.com. Before joining American Bridge 21st Century in 2014, Dennis served as the Research Director for the Ohio Democratic Party, Deputy Research Director for Elizabeth Warren’s 2012 Senate race, and worked on a number of local, state, and federal electoral campaigns.
