American Bridge 21st Century Releases New Ads In $25 Million Swing State Effort

New ‘Swing County Project’ Ad Features Special Ed Teacher and Former Trump Voter Condemning President for Politicizing School Reopenings

Today, American Bridge 21st Century launched new ads in its multi-million dollar Swing County Project aimed at weakening Donald Trump’s support with seniors and the small-town, rural voters necessary to his reelection effort. The latest TV ads feature a teacher and former Trump voter sharing her disappointment in Trump’s handling of the coronavirus and for turning school reopening into a political football. The ads will be delivered in targeted media markets in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

An example of the ads can be viewed here:

“Donald Trump risked seniors’ lives by pushing states to reopen too fast and without a plan. Now Trump is using the same dangerous playbook and gambling with the health of students, teachers, and parents by recklessly forcing schools to fully reopen without a plan — and threatening their funding if they don’t,” said American Bridge 21st Century President Bradley Beychok. “We’re going to hold Trump’s feet to the fire because no parent or teacher should be forced to choose between their life and our students’ education.”

Since American Bridge 21st Century’s Swing County Project began running TV, digital, and radio ads in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan last November, Trump’s margins with seniors and white working-class voters have plummeted. Biden is now leading by double digits with seniors and is the clear favorite to carry all three states. After a shakeup in leadership and a pause in TV ads, the Trump campaign recently announced their rebooted paid media plan. Missing from their buy? Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
