Tonight, Donald Trump called the sitting president of the United States the “founder of ISIS,” going out of his way to enunciate the president’s full name — “Barack. Hussein. Obama” — in an obvious return to Trump’s birther roots.
American Bridge Vice President Eddie Vale issued the following statement on Trump’s remarks:
“Donald Trump is a racist birther who’s consistently proven himself to be irresponsible and unstable; and he’s a fearmongering demagogue who’s wholly unfit to be commander-in-chief.
“After just yesterday encouraging violence against Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump somehow managed to reach a new, despicable low tonight — and with a known pedophile watching gleefully over his right shoulder, no less. Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio, and every other Republican enabling Trump, needs to forcefully speak out against him and once and for all revoke their support for his hateful candidacy.”
