American Bridge President Jessica Mackler released the following statement on Donald Trump’s second nominee to be Labor Secretary, Alexander Acosta:
“Alexander Acosta’s nomination is proof that Trump doesn’t learn from his mistakes, instead he is doubling down on a failing agenda that will kill U.S. jobs and make it harder for working families to get ahead. After Trump was embarrassed by a Labor nominee whose career was built on violating labor laws, Trump is returning to the same well and nominating a second Secretary of Labor poised to hurt working families and weaken our economy. Acosta’s record demands a thorough vetting and will do nothing to help stabilize an administration already reeling from numerous scandals and embarrassing public defeats.”
