BREAKING: Adam Laxalt to Campaign With Rapist Sheriff

May 30, 2018

The Nevada Independent reported this morning that Washington, D.C. native Adam Laxalt will campaign this weekend with alleged rapist and admitted sexual harasser Gerald Antinoro. Weeks ago, American Bridge launched ads against Laxalt over his support of Antinoro. Laxalt was then confronted in Las Vegas about the Sheriff, but ran away without answering a voter’s question on why he continues to support an alleged rapist. Laxalt has also faced protests outside his office for supporting Antinoro.

Even worse, Antinoro is only one of a series of sexual predators and misogynists Laxalt has aligned himself with. Here is a quick summary of some of Laxalt’s other most prominent supporters:

  • Steve Wynn: Wynn, who resigned from his company over numerous allegations of sexual harassment, was one of Laxalt’s biggest supporters.
  • Elliot Broidy: Broidy donated $10,000 to Laxalt’s campaign. Broidy was forced to resign from his position with the Republican National Committee over his paying a Playboy model he impregnated $1.6 million in hush money.
  • John Bolton: Bolton has been a supporter of Laxalt for years, well before Laxalt moved from Washington to Nevada to run for office. Bolton has a long history of threatening women, including going on a “warpath” against a female employee who asked for maternity leave. Bolton has also allegedly chased a woman though a hotel and threw things at her in a fit of rage.

“Adam Laxalt is a morally bankrupt hypocrite who tells sexual assault victims he wants to help them while campaigning with a Sheriff accused of raping someone,” said American Bridge spokesperson Zach Hudson. “What does it say to Gerald Antinoro’s victims when they see Nevada’s top law enforcement officer standing side by side with the man who allegedly assaulted them? From Steve Wynn, to Eliot Broidy, to John Bolton, to Gerald Antinoro, Adam Laxalt is surrounding his campaign with sexual predators and men with a history of violently threatening women.”
