Today, a stunning clip surfaced online where Nicole Shanahan admitted that the RFK Jr. campaign is deciding whether to stay in the race or drop out and endorse Donald Trump because “we run the risk of Kamala Harris and Waltz presidency.”
RFK Jr.’s campaign told voters for months that they were in the race to win the presidency and milked supporters for donations and volunteer hours.
The new revelation comes a month after Bobby Kennedy III posted a video online of a call revealing the close relationship between RFK Jr. and Donald Trump. In a nearly two-minute video clip of the conversation posted online, RFK Jr. listened to Trump say that something would be “big” for them to do together. Trump then said, “We’re going to win,” and RFK Jr. agreed.
After the phone call went viral, news reports exposed a secret scheme by the anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist to end his presidential campaign in exchange for overseeing the Department of Health and Human Services as its next secretary in a future Trump administration. Just days later, RFK Jr. praised Donald Trump at the 2024 Bitcoin Conference and said the convicted felon was “highly likely to be our next president.”
Kennedy’s ties to Trump go beyond a single phone call. Wyoming billionaire Timothy Mellon, the largest GOP donor in the 2024 campaign cycle to date, has now given the super PAC backing RFK Jr.’s spoiler campaign a total of $25 million.
Earlier this year, Kennedy’s campaign sent a fundraising email that echoed Trump’s false claims that “J6 activists” were “sitting in a Washington DC jail cell stripped of their Constitutional liberties.”
RFK Jr’s campaign also hired Zach Henry, who downplayed the January 6th insurrection as “Democrat misdirection” and was among the mob outside the capitol on January 6th beyond the established police lines. RFK Jr. himself claimed the riot at the U.S. Capitol, which led to the deaths of at least seven people, was not an insurrection and said he’d consider pardoning individuals who took part in overrunning police, delaying electoral certification, and ransacking the building.
“RFK Jr. spent years profiting off the fears of parents, people with disabilities, and others by pushing harmful and dangerous vaccine conspiracy theories. The fact that his presidential campaign turned out to be one big grift is unsurprising. RFK Jr. has taken Donald Trump’s side on nearly every issue from supporting extreme abortion bans to sympathizing with violent January 6th insurrectionists, RFK Jr. has always taken the side of the extreme right. Now, we see his running mate confirm that their campaign exists solely to put Trump in the White House,” said American Bridge spokesperson Brandon Weathersby. “When RFK Jr. ends his campaign to endorse Donald Trump ahead of the November election, we won’t be taking a victory lap. We’ll work overtime to make sure voters know these two are extremist grifters only in it for themselves.”
