FLASHBACK: Earlier this Year, Graham, Cassidy, Heller Said CBO Scores Vital to Vetting Health Care Bills

This week, Senate Republicans once against exposed their partisan hypocrisy by recklessly dismissing the need for a full CBO score of the Graham-Cassidy-Heller health care bill before voting on it, even though–as recently as this summer–Senators Dean Heller, Lindsay Graham, Bill Cassidy, and many others said they needed a CBO score to evaluate health care bills.

Without a CBO score, basic information such as how many people will lose coverage, how much premiums will increase, and how much more care for common pre-existing conditions will increase will not be known. The Senate GOP’s game plan is to keep Americans in the dark — because they know the more the American people learn about their latest Trumpcare plan, the more they hate it.

“The same senators trying to ram this latest disastrous Trumpcare bill though Congress were — just months ago — eloquently explaining why a comprehensive analysis by the Congressional Budget Office […]

First Day of Recess Town Halls Spell Trouble For #SpinelessGOP

On the first day of recess town halls, House and Senate Republicans faced a barrage of phone calls, protests outside their offices, and tough questions at packed town halls about the GOP’s radical agenda for America and Donald Trump’s chaotic first month as president.

Instead of doing their jobs and answering reasonable questions about their agenda, Republican Senators and Congressmen are ducking their own voters — who will be sure to remember next November.

Here’s what Spineless Republicans are up to when they should be answering their constituents questions…

Hundred Rally To Protest Deb Fischer’s Endorsement of Betsy DeVos.

Protesters Outside Jeff Flake’s Office Want Him to Defend His Support For Donald Trump and Repealing Obamacare.

Constituents Faced Technical Difficulties at Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ Town Hall, Which Ended Abruptly.

175 Days Of Unprecedented Supreme Court Obstructionism From The GOP Senate

After a six week vacation, Senator Chuck Grassley is back in DC — and still refusing to do his job. This morning, the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hold a nomination hearing to confirm judicial nominees. One glaring omission from the docket? Judge Merrick Garland.

Senate Republicans have made headlines for months on their historic obstructionism and it has now been 175 days of unprecedented obstructionism on the Supreme Court vacancy, and Senate Republicans are STILL refusing to do their jobs.

With Chuck Grassley leading the charge, Senate Republicans are actively working to hold the Supreme Court vacancy open for a potential Donald Trump nominee. That’s right — Senate Republicans want the unhinged GOP nominee (who has made multiple racist attacks against judges) to choose the next Supreme Court justice. With judicial vacancies hitting crisis level since the GOP Senate took office and a majority of […]

WATCH: Grassley Flips Again, Confirms He’ll Continue SCOTUS Obstruction Back In DC

As chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley has been at the forefront of the Republican Senate’s refusal to do their job and fill the Supreme Court vacancy. Grassley has been firm in his opposition to confirming President Obama’s nominee while working behind the scenes to hold the seat open for a potential Trump nominee.

Grassley’s shameful, partisan obstructionism has cost him in polls, and as he’s now facing the toughest race of his career, he panicked last week and told voters in Iowa who are unhappy with his refusal to do his job that he’d be open to holding hearings to confirm Merrick Garland. Now that Congress is getting ready to head back to DC, Grassley is back on Team McConnell doubling down on his obstructionism.

Despite trying to have it both ways in front of Iowa voters, Grassley confirmed what we already knew — he’s committed […]

Chuck Grassley Minces Words, Tries To Have It Both Ways On SCOTUS

At a town hall meeting in Iowa yesterday, Chuck Grassley attempted to mince words and run from his repeated refusal to do his job and hold a hearing to fill the Supreme Court vacancy. When asked about filling the vacancy, Grassley offered a circular, mealy mouthed answer claiming that he’d hold hearings to confirm President Obama’s nominee if a majority of senators wanted to do so.

In a panic over his dropping poll numbers and repeated questions from voters, Grassley is now attempting to have it both ways on the Supreme Court. Make no mistake — as chair of the Judiciary Committee, Grassley has led the charge in obstructing the nomination of a Supreme Court justice,  and even confirmed at the Roast & Ride this weekend that he’s committed to working behind the scenes to hold the seat open for a potential Trump nominee.

Donald Trump Brings White Nationalist-Inspired Hate Show To Iowa

To cap off a week of lying to voters about softening his plans to mass deport immigrants and defending his campaign’s support from white nationalists, Donald Trump is joining Joni Ernst, Chuck Grassley and Steve King today in Iowa for a campaign rally.

Trump has a history of racist, xenophobic, anti-Semitic comments — the campaign even cited a hate group in their first ad of the general election — so it’s no surprise that his campaign doubled down on the support he’s enjoyed from white nationalists and neo-Nazis with his hire of Breitbart’s Steve Bannon.

Today’s rally promises more of the same. Make no mistake about it — Trump isn’t pivoting. He’s said he won’t change, and he’ll continue to hurl racist insults and push for nativist and xenophobic immigration policies.

With his visit to Iowa, Donald Trump is attempting to hold on to one of the […]

Chuck Grassley Stumps For Trump’s Campaign Of Hate, Bigotry and Racism

Chuck Grassley is now in the tightest race in his career, and as his poll numbers continue to plummet, he’s increasingly harder to find in state. Grassley skipped out on an Iowa tradition this month when he refused to appear at the Des Moines Register’s Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair. Editorial boards and voters alike have noticed that the Senator who, in the past has been lauded for his accessibility, has become completely absent.

Chuck Grassley is coming out of hiding this weekend — to join his friend Donald Trump at Joni Ernst’s Roast & Ride. Grassley has been working behind the scenes to obstruct the confirmation of President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee and hold the seat open for a potential Trump nominee, so it’s no surprise that he’s making a public appearance to stump with Trump.

WATCH: Chuck Grassley Stands Firm In Support of Trump TODAY After Offensive, Violent Remarks

Chuck Grassley has been one of Donald Trump’s staunchest supporters, from appearing with him at a rally back in January to working behind the scenes to obstruct President Obama’s Supreme Court nomination and hold the seat open for a potential Trump nominee.

Grassley has said time and time again that he supports Trump — even after Trump attacked a Gold Star family. But yesterday, Trump crossed yet another line when he made the dangerous, reckless suggestion of violence against his political opponent.

This morning at a town hall meeting, Grassley reaffirmed his support for Trump even as the GOP’s presidential nominee takes heat from both sides for his inexcusable and unacceptable suggestion of violence yesterday.

How Can Congressional Republicans Support Trump After He Denigrated A Gold Star Family?

Somehow, Sens. Kelly Ayotte, Ron Johnson, Chuck Grassley, Marco Rubio, Pat Toomey, Roy Blunt, and Rob Portman, and Reps. Joe Heck and Todd Young, are still supporting Donald Trump after he lashed out at Gold Star parents for honoring their son who was killed in Iraq by a suicide bomber..

Trump this Sunday displayed his indignant and reactive temperament by questioning Khizr and Ghazala Khan, who spoke at the DNC convention on behalf of their son killed in 2004. The Khans made an impassioned case against Trump for hoping to ban people from the U.S. based on their religion, as well opposing Trump for vilifying people like their son from serving in the U.S. military based on their religion.

“What will it take for Senate and House Republicans to repudiate Trump and his dangerous breed of nationalism?” asked Jessica Mackler, president of American Bridge. “Trump’s disregard for our soldiers’ sacrifices is even more evidence […]

The Worst Kind Of Deja Vu: GOP Senators Reject Common Sense Gun Safety Bills

Today, the following GOP senators voted against legislation that would help prevent suspected terrorists from purchasing guns:

Roy Blunt, Missouri
John Boozman, Arkansas
Richard Burr, North Carolina
Chuck Grassley, Iowa
Ron Johnson, Wisconsin
John McCain, Arizona
Rand Paul, Kentucky
Rob Portman, Ohio

Marco Rubio, Florida

Pat Toomey, Pennsylvania

These GOP senators also voted against closing the background check loophole for guns bought online and at gun shows:

Kelly Ayotte, New Hampshire
Roy Blunt, Missouri
John Boozman, Arkansas
Richard Burr, North Carolina
Chuck Grassley, Iowa
Ron Johnson, Wisconsin
John McCain, Arizona
Rand Paul, Kentucky
Rob Portman, Ohio

Marco Rubio, Florida

Pat Toomey, Pennsylvania

“These are common sense measures, but Senate Republicans refuse to take action against gun violence,” said American Bridge President Jessica Mackler. “Instead of supporting legislation that could make real change, GOP leaders introduced sham legislation that will do little to prevent another mass shooting and will still make it possible for suspected terrorists to get their hands on guns. The GOP should be ashamed that they continue to cower and risk Americans’ safety rather […]
