Arizona Daily Star: Letter: What is McSally saying?
By Bette E. Bunker Richards | September 12, 2018
- “As a family member who has supported and assisted active duty military members my entire life, I am thoroughly disgusted with Martha McSally’s political ads.”
- “Does she think that military family members do not also serve our country? My family members fought — and sometimes died — for the right of Americans to protest any and all government actions.”
- “Obviously, McSally thinks I, and other military family members, have no right to protest and she did not fight for that.”
- “Why doesn’t she talk about her record as a representative instead of only her past military experience?”

Arizona Daily Star: Letter: Open letter to the Honorable Martha McSally
By Cindy Soffrin | September 12, 2018
- “Let’s be clear, you were performing your military service IN DEFENSE of Kyrsten Sinema’s right to disagree with our government’s actions, which include her opinion that the action to which you were assigned was detrimental to peace.”
- “We all thought that peace was the ultimate goal.”
- “Ms. Sinema’s actions were protected by the U.S. Constitution — your job was to protect and defend the Constitution.”
- “Your ‘Holier than thou’ attitude strikes me as childish and unappealing.”

Arizona Daily Star: Letter: McSally disappoints!
By Sandra Beecher | September 12, 2018
- “Martha McSally has served two terms representing Arizona in the House of Representatives and wants to be a U.S. Senator. However, her campaign ads tell us nothing about her record, but instead make petty comments about the dress of her opponent rather than just pointing out the actions with which she disagrees.”
- “What’s even worse is that she has other Arizonans repeat the same message, almost word for word, and show the same photo.”
- “Why vote for someone who cannot deliver a positive message of her own accomplishments.”

Arizona Daily Star: Letter: ‘Tutu’ ad sends the wrong message
By Therese Flores | September 12, 2018
- “The political ad put out by Martha McSally showing herself in a flight suit and Kyrsten Sinema in a tutu is sending a horrible message to women and girls everywhere.”
- “I am a strong and smart woman with two college degrees. There was a time in my life when I wore a pink tutu and I loved every minute of it.”
- “It is really sad that this sexist ad is put out there by a woman. A person can be girlie and feminine and also be smart and strong.”

Arizona Daily Star: Letter: McSally duplicity
By Scott Lukomski | September 11, 2018
- “I find it to be a curious contradiction when Martha McSally rails about her service to defend U.S. rights and principles and then denigrates her opponent for exercising those very same rights.”
- “I don’t recall that in enlistment you were given a choice of which group of Americans you were going to defend at the exclusion of the others who you may not agree with.”
