Deval Patrick highlighted the importance of passing the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act – important legislation that will lower barriers to voting, reform campaign finance, and curb gerrymandering.

Gov. Deval Patrick: “I’d start off by being frustrated by the fact that not a single Republican in the Senate and I think it’s true in the House as well, has been willing to stand up for something so central to a functioning, participatory democracy and that’s fair access to the ballot. I think the more important question today is where are those members?”
