The Republican Party created and nurtured a racist birther and now they want him to be president of the United States.
Donald Trump has called President Obama the founder of a terrorist organization; said Hillary Clinton is ISIS’s “Most Valuable Player” and questioned her religious faith (also, incited violence against her); called immigrants “rapists” who are “bringing drugs” and “crime”; endorsed religious profiling and a religious test on individuals entering the U.S.; promised to bring back waterboarding and “a hell of a lot worse”; indicated he’d kill the families of terrorists; refused to rule out using nuclear weapons in Europe; attacked prisoners of war and a Gold Star family; threatened to pull out of NATO; and cheered, on multiple occasions, the prospect of an economic crisis.
The man is an unapologetic con man, who’s made a career of skipping out on his bills, discriminating against minorities, duping veterans and single parents and the elderly, and profiting even as he’s screwed over investors and run businesses into the ground.
Trump’s never done anything to help others. His unstable temperament, open desire to inspire hatred and incite violence, amateurish foreign policy, and likely willingness to run the country into the ground, if he has a shot at padding his wallet in the process, all make him fundamentally unqualified to be commander-in-chief.
