Last night, Donald Trump-endorsed Republican candidate and Connecticut hedge fund executive Dave McCormick won the GOP primary in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race.
“Dave McCormick leashed himself to Donald Trump — a guy currently spending his time falling asleep during his own criminal hearings — and it’s not going to end well for him in November,” said Alexandra De Luca, vice president of communications for American Bridge 21st Century. “The Republican Party’s anti-choice, anti-democracy agenda is dangerous and unpopular, and these politicians either support it because they are cowards, or because they are true believers in the MAGA agenda. Either way, they are unfit to serve Pennsylvania in Washington, D.C.”

At Bridgewater, McCormick increased the firm’s investment in China by 108,000% and invested millions of dollars in growing China’s military. He’s personally profited on the China trade policies he helped shape while serving in the George W. Bush administration.

McCormick lied about his upbringing — claiming he grew up on a farm and was a farmer — when his parents were well-connected and he grew up in a mansion.

McCormick has stated that he wants to repeal the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, despite having no idea what the bill actually does and how many Pennsylvanians it benefits.

McCormick has opposed abortion rights, including in the cases of rape and incest.
