Trump: “It’s like a fine wine because that’s what you have, that’s what you have a fine wine. He’s [Mark Robinson] an outstanding person.”
Today, CNN reported that one of Donald Trump’s closest allies, North Carolina GOP gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson, posted on a pornography forum that he had a history of “peeping” on women in locker rooms, supported modern slavery, and called himself a “black NAZI.” Trump has made it exceedingly clear that he thinks Mark Robinson is an “outstanding person” and a “good man” — and even “Dr. Martin Luther King on steroids.”
“Mark Robinson, who Trump said has ‘to win’ and that he’s a ‘good man,’ has truly outdone himself this time — which should not come as a surprise to Donald Trump or any of the countless Republicans who have celebrated Robinson since he launched his political career,” said American Bridge 21st Century President Pat Dennis. “If nothing else, Robinson should have earned the loyalty of a creep like Trump during this troubling time for the GOP’s marquee N.C. campaign. Robinson is exactly the type of racist, antisemitic creep Trump and the MAGA movement have tied themselves to and who the Republican Party have embraced with open arms. These are the consequences.”
Donald Trump and Mark Robinson go way back, and Donald Trump has had nothing but praise for him:
- Donald Trump patted Mark Robinson on the back, saying, “He’s got to win. Got to win. He’s a good man.”
- Donald Trump said that Mark Robinson is “Dr. Martin Luther King on steroids.”
- Donald Trump said about Mark Robinson, “I want to thank a very good man and he’s in there fighting, he’s fighting. And we know he’s a fighter, the next governor of North Carolina, Mark Robinson.”
- Donald Trump told donors to “cherish Mark” Robinson and write him checks: “It’s like a fine wine because that’s what you have, that’s what you have a fine wine. He’s an outstanding person.”
- Donald Trump said, “Mark Robinson, he’s out there. He’s fighting. He’s fighting. He’s a great one.”
