There’s a trend to Marco Rubio: a scratch beneath the surface leaves a lot to be desired. It’s well known that Rubio doesn’t show up for his day job in the Senate and he “skimped on job requirements as FIU professor.” But even with his presidential campaign, there’s less than meets the eye. Just last week it was reported his campaign in New Hampshire “lacks one element that has proved to be pivotal for previous winners of…the presidential primary: a robust ground game.” And National Review is out with a piece this morning that Iowa caucus-goers aren’t feeling the love either. “Everyone here is mad at Marco Rubio,” NR reports.
He may think this is a #NewAmericanCentury and that he can play by his own rules, but here’s a historical fact: “Since 1976…every single nominee but one, in both parties, won either Iowa or New Hampshire.” Rubio may talk the talk, but he doesn’t walk the walk, and we’re not buying the hype.
