The GOP has made a hobby (no pun intended) of legislating women’s bodies.
Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz both support personhood amendments and a ban on abortions after 20 weeks with no exceptions for rape or incest. Ohio Governor John Kasich has one of the worst choice records among the candidates, having “signed every abortion and women’s reproductive health provision that has landed on his desk.”
Now, the Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine is calling on the legislature to vote on a bill that would require women to bury or cremate terminated pregnancies, even in cases of miscarriages. Is this the next wave of anti-choice legislation? Will the Republican presidential candidates continue to dictate women’s health decisions to further their agenda?
