Republican Congresswoman Jen Kiggans (VA-02) has backed the GOP’s budget resolution, a measure that could result in millions of Americans losing access to health care and groceries. This decision comes at the expense of critical support for working families, all to give a massive tax break to billionaires.
“There were 69,200 living, breathing people in Jen Kiggans’ district who were relying on her to protect their health insurance. She decided tax cuts for billionaires were a higher priority. Voters will not forget,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado.
The budget resolution would cut Medicaid up to $880 billion and SNAP up to $230 billion. Virginians who depend on Medicaid and SNAP will suffer as a result:

Approximately 69,200 (11%) of Kiggans’ constituents in Virginia’s Second District are covered by Medicaid or CHIP, and more than 24,000 people in the district have used SNAP.
Before voting to slash Medicaid, Kiggans previously voted for a Republican package that could have taken Medicaid coverage away from nearly two million Americans.
