Wisconsin U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson is reiterating his past encouragement for the Supreme Court’s Republican appointees to overturn Roe v. Wade — an outcome that would cause “almost all abortions” to “be illegal in Wisconsin.”
Via the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
“Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said late Tuesday that if the leaked draft of a Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade becomes the ‘final decision,’ he would ‘agree with that outcome.’”
Johnson made similar comments during an interview with Newsmax, reiterating:
“This is the correct decision.”

In July 2021, Johnson asked the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. And last December, Johnson reiterated his position that the Court should “revisit” Roe v. Wade, opening the door for ban laws in states like Wisconsin to nearly or fully outlaw abortion.
In the past, Johnson has said, “if you don’t like the [abortion laws] in your state that you currently reside in, you can move.”
