On Saturday, Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake skipped a meeting with Verde Valley Republicans to wear a fancy hat and (maybe) drink mint juleps at the Kentucky Derby. Lake was eager to drop everything — including Arizonans — at a moment’s notice when Donald Trump invited her to attend a Derby fundraiser that cost $75k per person.
“After being called on by Trump, Kari Lake ditched her prescheduled campaign events and flew halfway across the country to watch a horse race and rub shoulders with other 2020 election deniers,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Aidan Johnson. “It’s obvious where Lake’s loyalty lies. She will always put Donald Trump’s interests ahead of Arizonans — including members of her own party — even if it means helping him steal the 2024 election.”
