Election denier and far-right extremist Kari Lake won the Arizona Senate GOP primary and will advance to the general election. Lake, a failed gubernatorial candidate and notorious election denier, has built her Senate campaign on a foundation of disinformation and extremism. Her repeated promotion of debunked election fraud claims, dangerous conspiracy theories, and inflammatory rhetoric inciting political violence make her candidacy a serious threat to Arizonans. Lake’s staunch support for the state’s draconian 1864 abortion ban highlights her stark disconnect from the values and needs of Arizonans.
“Kari Lake’s extreme views and dangerous rhetoric make her a liability for Republicans who are trying to take back the Senate. From campaigning in front of a Confederate flag to blatantly lying during her RNC speech, her campaign is a total train wreck. It doesn’t help that she’s extremely weird and constantly out-of-touch with regular people. Arizonans are not going to put up with Lake’s attempts to mess with our democracy,” said American Bridge 21st Century Senate Communications Director, Nico Delgado.
Kari Lake’s toxic record that will cost Republicans the Senate:
- Lake encouraged supporters to “strap on a Glock” to prepare for the 2024 elections.
- Lake encouraged barbers and hairdressers to intimidate voters with the “weapon” they use close to their ear.
- Lake wants to put cameras in all of Arizona’s classrooms, risking the safety of children.
- Lake appeared in a promotional video for Trump’s Project 2025.
- Lake is a prominent election denier who refuses to concede her last gubernatorial race and has pushed through failed election lawsuits.
- Lake defended January 6th insurrectionists.
- Lake campaigned in front of a Confederate flag.
- Lake repeatedly attacked the media and refused to answer basic questions.
- Lake lied during her speech at the Republican National Convention, falsely claiming that undocumented immigrants could vote.
- Lake supports Arizona’s 1864 near-total abortion ban.
- Lake called a 15-week abortion ban “reasonable.”
- Lake called for repealing the Affordable Care Act which would strip away health care access from the 350,000 Arizonans who depend on it.
- Lake proposed massive cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
- Lake repeatedly promoted conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and vaccines.
- Lake called climate change a “scam” and downplayed record temperatures.
- Lake opposed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, and the CHIPS Act.
