Speaking with Anderson Cooper, Marco Rubio sounded like he’s prepared to personally bear the burden facing seniors if he cuts their earned benefits. In the past, he’s used more straightforward language about what he thinks: Social Security has “weakened us as a people.”
Seniors’ benefits are what’s being weakened in Rubio’s equation. He’s still scheming for Koch support this election by doing their bidding and proposing to cut Social Security and Medicare:
- He would means-testSocial Security and raise the retirement age.
- He would partially voucherize Medicare, by shifting the program to a premium-support systemthat would push retirees to private plans.
