Pennsylvania Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mehmet Oz just said, “The Court is right,” regarding the leaked report that the Supreme Court’s Republican appointees have voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, carrying out the next step in Republicans’ years-long effort to end the right to abortion.
In his tweet, Oz also indicated that, if elected, he will vote in support of legislation to outlaw abortion at the federal level. Every Pennsylvania GOP candidate running, including Oz, supports outlawing abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.
Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that Senate Republicans have “discussed at multiple meetings the possibility of banning abortion at around six weeks” at the national level.
Polling has shown that 80% of Americans believe abortion should be legal, and that 60% of Americans oppose the Supreme Court’s GOP appointees overturning Roe.
