“We’ve got it [abortion ban] down to 12 weeks. The next goal is to get it down to 6, and then just keep moving from there.”
North Carolina GOP gubernatorial frontrunner Mark Robinson, who has resorted to calling abortion the “a-word” and openly says he doesn’t want to discuss the issue on the campaign trail, was caught telling a supporter that he “absolutely” wants to ban abortion from the moment of conception.
Listen to Robinson’s own words here or below.
In the audio recording, Robinson also describes his plans to get North Carolina from a 12-week to zero-week abortion ban, and advocates for duplicitous and fraudulent “crisis pregnancy centers.”
Philip Shulman, American Bridge’s States Communications Director, responded in a statement:
“This isn’t the first time Robinson’s archaic anti-abortion rights record has put him in the spotlight. He was previously caught saying that those who get an abortion, even if it’s within 24 hours of conception, are ‘murderers,’ and the medical professionals administering this procedure are the ‘butchers of humanity.’ Robinson has also said if he had a ‘willing legislature’ he would pass an abortion ban with zero exceptions. North Carolina deserves better.”
