Bill Cassidy is celebrating April Fool’s Day – except the joke is on the nearly one million Louisianans who rely on Medicare funds that Cassidy wants to cut. During a TV interview, Cassidy made the “oops” of a lifetime when he casually admitted that Republicans are looking to cut Medicare. He quickly backtracked and attempted to rephrase it as “reforms” – the GOP code word for “let’s make life harder for the people who need it most.”
“Bill Cassidy’s slip-up on April Fool’s Day wasn’t a joke — it was a warning to the nearly one million Louisianans who will watch their health care disappear,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado. “If Cassidy and the GOP have their way, Louisianans will be sicker and poorer, while billionaires skip to the bank with their tax cuts.”
