American Bridge 21st Century Launches New Ad, Slamming Trump on COVID-19 Deaths
Ad shares the heartbreaking story from the daughter of a coronavirus victim and Trump supporter
Today, American Bridge 21st Century launched a new ad, “Betrayed,” featuring the story of Kristin Urquiza from Arizona whose father, a Trump supporter, took Trump’s downplaying and misinformation to heart. He later contracted COVID-19 and admitted to feeling betrayed by Donald Trump before passing away.
This is the first major campaign ad drawing a direct line between Trump’s misinformation and downplaying of the coronavirus with the death of a Trump supporter. “Betrayed” will run during the Republican National Convention and in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Washington D.C. The ads will also be delivered on digital platforms.
The new ad can be viewed here:
“By failing to respond to the coronavirus or tell Americans the truth, Donald Trump is responsible for so much unnecessary sickness, heartbreak and death during this pandemic,” said American Bridge President Bradley Beychok. “There is a direct line between Donald Trump’s incompetence and the over 170,000 families who experienced the ultimate loss. While nothing at the ballot box will erase their pain, we can choose to turn the page on a White House that lied about a pandemic and then waved the white flag when the going got tough. Joe Biden represents the very best of our nation because he not only has a plan to get us out of this crisis, he possesses the understanding, empathy, and strength to comfort the grieving, get our country back on its feet, and lead us out of this crisis.”
