In a radio interview this morning, Senator Pat Toomey said he might not be able to support Donald Trump, but he’d really, really like to:
I hope to get to the point where I can enthusiastically support Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has accused women in politics of playing the “woman card,” and said that women have it easier than men. He’s called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States and for police to patrol Muslim neighborhoods. Trump has referred to Mexicans as rapists, and said “wages are too high.” Yet, Toomey has promised his support to the Republican nominee again and again — even if it’s Trump.
As late as May 1, Toomey was on the Trump train. Only now — when it is politically convenient — is Toomey wagging his finger (if that’s even what you can call it) at Trump. Sorry, Senator Toomey, hedging your bets isn’t a denouncement — you’re still #EventuallyTrump.
