President Joe Biden introduced his plan to lower the deficit while protecting Medicare and Social Security – and 2024 GOP hopefuls are not happy about it. The 2024 GOP presidential field can’t stop touching the third rail of politics and keep rolling out plans to cut Social Security and Medicare.
Just yesterday, the National Review published an op-ed by former Vice President Mike Pence where he outlines his plans to gut these essential programs that millions of Americans rely on. Pence is foaming at the mouth to cut Social Security and Medicare. According to a report from Yahoo News, privatizing Social Security was one of Mike Pence’s first policy proposals ahead of 2024.
Meanwhile, in Iowa, 2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley is on the stump also proposing cuts to Medicare and Social Security. Specifically, she said she wants to raise the retirement age. Watch here.
Nikki Haley: “So the first thing you do is you change the retirement age of the young people coming up so that we can try and have some sort of system for them. The second thing is, you go and you limit benefits for wealthy people.”
