Back in 2014, Rick Scott promised Floridians he would “prevent families’ property taxes from increasing year after year.” He failed to deliver — and Floridians have seen their property taxes rise while Rick Scott has given taxpayer handouts to wealthy corporations, instead.
Politifact: “We rate this promise broken. In his last legislative session, Governor Rick Scott did not push for an amendment to curb property tax increases nor did the legislature pursue the idea…With everything considered, we rated this promise broken.”
“Floridians know Rick Scott’s record as Florida governor is a legacy of corruption, big handouts for large corporations, and broken promises for Florida’s middle class. That’s why Floridians just don’t trust this governor — and why they won’t give him a promotion in November,” said American Bridge spokesperson Joshua Karp.
